Fireplace Fix

When we bought the house one of the things I didn't like about it was the brass fireplace. So Kyle and I decided a quick fix would be to spray paint it...spray paint fixes anything! So we bought a can of high heat flat black spray paint, I taped off the glass and Kyle sprayed away. We are so happy with the results and it was so cheap and easy.

Kitchen Makeover

Well, the kitchen is finally as finished as it is going to be for a while (except for the baseboards and transition pieces on the floor). I am going to paint the cabinets black later, but that's a project for the summer. Have a look! We got a new fridge this week and Kyle installed the dishwasher so it's finally complete! He's become quite the jack of all trades: floor installer, electrician, plumber, painter, wood worker, and my favorite, the pool boy! I'm really proud of all the work he's put into our house, not having any idea what he's doing and making it look great! Ok...here are the pictures!

Cork Floor

Kyle has been installing our new kitchen floor this week. He hasn't been able to finish because when he gets the opportunity to work it's too late to be using his saw. So we have boxes of floor sitting out. This morning Niah crawled into the boxes and was playing. I took some pictures. You can get a peek of the floor too! Of course Niah smelled when I said smile, she continues to think I'm telling her to smell instead of smile :).

Bathroom Update

We are getting close to being finished with the bathroom. Here are a few pictures. We just have to get the mirror done and up and make the medicine cabinet area open shelving.

The Work is Neverending, but Dwindling

It is 1:55am and Kyle and I got back a little while ago from working on the house. I was so excited to post pictures I am still up as Kyle is next to me, in his bed :), snoring. For those who don't know we have been in two twin beds for the last 4 months. It's pretty funny when he asks me to "go back to my own bed..." Anyway...here are some recent accomplishments on the house.

With a little paint...the room is transformed. I took the mirror down for now and am going to put a framed mirror up. I am also going to change out the lights eventually.
We've added a brushed nickel faucet which you can't see here and are working on the shower. I love the blue color!

As promised, here are a couple pictures of the family room. This color is throughout the house...living room, family room, laundry, kitchen and hallways.

J.R. Watkins

I have found a new product that I love! It's J.R. Watkins natural cleaning and body products. Check out the website www.jrwatkins.com. I love that their products are all natural AND the packaging is so cute! I bought the all purpose cleaner in aloe and green tea and the bottle matches my kitchen! I am trying to use more natural eco friendly products and these are inexpensive and non-toxic and have cute bottles!

I also just found these three lotion products in one package at costco for $4.97. That is such a deal!
